This charming hotel sits right in the heart of the city, just steps away from the Li River—our room had an unbeatable riverside view, perfect for morning jogs along the bank. The entire property was beautifully decorated with a festive Christmas vibe that added such warmth to our stay. The room itself was spotless and immaculately clean—hygiene was never a concern. When I went to use the self-service laundry the next day, it was already full. Instead of waiting, the staff member kindly offered me a spot and even took care of the laundry for me. When it was done, my clothes were returned neatly folded and packed—such a thoughtful touch! The service was incredibly prompt and genuinely welcoming. As a food lover, I was thrilled by the dining options: breakfast featured fresh, crisp ice lettuce—my absolute favorite. Lunch and dinner offered creative, locally inspired dishes with excellent flavor and presentation. Every meal felt special. This hotel exceeded all expectations—highly recommend for anyone visiting Guilin.

The first time I stayed in a twin room—spacious and comfortable—and this time I accidentally booked the wrong room type. To my surprise, they upgraded our room for free and even offered a late checkout—such a thoughtful touch! My mom and I both loved the chairs in the room—they were surprisingly comfortable and perfect for relaxing after a long day. I also booked the one-hour artistic photo shoot experience, which was efficient and delivered great results: three beautiful, natural-looking photos that captured the moment perfectly. The custom gift set included a calming essential oil with real rose petals inside—opening it released such a rich, soothing rose scent that instantly lifted my mood. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to visit the Gu Opera cultural exhibition, but that didn’t take away from the overall fantastic experience. From the location to the personal touches, this hotel truly stands out. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful, stylish stay with a hint of local charm.

The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk from Elephant Trunk Hill, Seven Star Park, West-East Street, Jingjiang Prince's Mansion, Renyang Pedestrian Street, the Sun and Moon Twin Towers, and the Shanghu Lake. From the room, you can enjoy stunning views of the lake, especially at night when the lights come on—it’s breathtaking. After dinner, we loved strolling along the lakeside path; it’s such a peaceful way to unwind. The breakfast was simple but satisfying—good quality and tasty options. Dinner was equally impressive, with delicious local flavors and well-prepared dishes. Staff were attentive and responsive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered. I’d definitely book here again next time I visit Guilin.

Shangri-La Guilin

Staying at Shangri-La Guilin was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Our guest host Emily went above and beyond—she reached out in advance to learn about our preferences and even prepared thoughtful little amenities for our child. The housekeeping staff, Jongche, was incredibly attentive, personally escorting us to our room and giving a detailed walk-through of the hotel’s facilities with genuine warmth. The room itself beautifully blends modern comfort with traditional northern Guangxi charm—our bed was so cozy we slept like babies all night. But the real highlight? The evening view: as dusk fell, the river lights gently lit up the scene outside our window, turning the Li River into a shimmering canvas. Absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast was fantastic—wide variety, delicious quality—and the local beer fish at the Chinese restaurant was authentic and mouthwatering. Pool attendant Tang Jundong was patient and welcoming, guiding us straight to the pool area with a smile. Every touch felt personal, every service thoughtful. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a home away from home. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary osmanthus cake delivered to my room—a sweet little touch that added charm to the stay. The front desk staff, especially Xiao Mei, was incredibly helpful and professional. She answered every question about parking, dining, and nearby attractions clearly and efficiently, showing real dedication to guest satisfaction. My room had an amazing panoramic view of the surrounding karst mountains and the hill itself—waking up to that scenery was truly magical. The room was bright, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with high-quality bedding and pillows that made for a restful night. The front desk staff were warm and helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions during check-in. That said, there’s ongoing construction near the river path, so I’d recommend checking with the hotel staff for the best route before heading out. Service truly stands out—the front desk team was warm and welcoming, with a gentleman even helping carry my luggage after parking. Plus, a dedicated concierge is available 24/7; any request or question was answered almost instantly. It’s rare to find such thoughtful hospitality combined with modern comfort. This place offers incredible value and made our stay in Guilin unforgettable.

Located right in the heart of the city, it's just a 2-3 km ride from Guilin Railway Station, and a quick taxi or short walk gets you there. It’s also within a 10-minute stroll to Elephant Trunk Hill and the bustling Zhengyang Pedestrian Street—super convenient for exploring the area. We stayed on the family-friendly floor, and the room was spacious and thoughtfully designed for children. The room came with a bunk bed featuring a slide, a kid-sized table, a mini tent, a rocking horse, and even a large bathtub—perfect for soaking after a long day of sightseeing. The hallway had a dedicated kids’ play zone, where our little one played non-stop and refused to leave! Breakfast at the 9th-floor restaurant was fantastic—plenty of local favorites like Guilin rice noodles, small wontons, and authentic oil tea, all fresh and delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful too—from assisting with luggage to offering laundry service. They washed, dried, and returned our clothes neatly folded to our room. No need to lift a finger! The rooftop pool and panoramic viewing deck are stunning spots for photos—every shot looks like a scene from a classic Chinese painting. And as we checked out, we were surprised with a thoughtful welcome gift. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit Guilin!
