My stay at this hotel was excellent overall. The staff were efficient and friendly, making check-in and daily interactions a breeze. Breakfast was top-notch—plenty of options and delicious quality. The pool is on the smaller side, but it's clean and well-maintained, perfect for a quick dip after exploring the city. Located just steps from public transit, getting around Lyon is super convenient. Great value for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it to others looking for a comfortable, no-frills experience in a central location.
Staying at Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part-Dieu was an excellent experience from start to finish. We booked a triple room with one double bed and one single bed—plenty of space, and the bedding was super comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. The room came equipped with a mini-fridge, complimentary bottled water, instant coffee, and tea bags—perfect for early mornings without needing to go out. The TV was large and had excellent picture quality, great for relaxing after a long day. Cleanliness was top-notch—everything felt spotless and well-maintained. What really stood out was the toiletries: Clarins, a well-known French brand! It added a nice touch of luxury. The bathroom was smartly designed with a dry-wet separation—shower and toilet in separate areas, which made everything much more convenient and hygienic. Location-wise, it’s literally just steps away from the train station. You can walk straight out and be there in under two minutes—but watch your direction, as the station complex can be confusing. Despite being right next to a busy railway hub, the soundproofing is impressive. Double-glazed windows on two layers (four panes total) kept outside noise completely out, so the room stayed quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful—there was even a red candy at the front desk, which turned out to be a local specialty. I later tried a pastry containing that same ingredient, and it was delicious! Also, luggage storage was super easy. All in all, this hotel offers fantastic value, great comfort, and unbeatable convenience—definitely a place I’d recommend and stay at again.
This is hands down the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Europe at this price point. Located right in the heart of the business district, it's just a 30-minute walk to the train station—super convenient for getting around. The room was modern and well-equipped with air conditioning, a fridge, and two free bottles of water each day. Everything was spotlessly clean, even down to thoughtful extras like a shower cap, sewing kit, and toiletry pouch. The soundproofing is excellent—no noise from hallways or neighboring rooms, which made for a peaceful night’s sleep. The view from the window was fantastic, offering a nice glimpse of the city life outside. With such a great location, top-notch cleanliness, and excellent value, this place truly stands out. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Absolutely loved my stay here—would definitely come back! The rooms were spacious and incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night's sleep. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh local ingredients that really made the meal special. One small suggestion: having a water fountain on each floor would be convenient, especially if you need a drink in the middle of the night without having to use the elevator. Also, while the hotel is quiet overall, the soundproofing from the street could be slightly improved for those staying in front-facing rooms. But honestly, these are just minor points—everything else was perfect. Great location, excellent service, and a fantastic value. Highly recommend!
Staying at the Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—right on a bustling shopping street with countless shops, restaurants, and cozy bars just steps from the door. I loved how walkable everything was, making it easy to explore the city without needing transport. The room was spotless, quiet, and well-maintained—perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. It’s clear this hotel values guest comfort and quality. With such a fantastic location, clean rooms, and excellent service, I’d definitely book here again on my next trip to Lyon. Highly recommended!
Staying at the InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu by IHG was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a 40-minute walk to the historic hill of Fourvière, the majestic Notre-Dame de Fourvière Cathedral, and the ancient Roman Theatre. The morning views from the city skyline are stunning, especially when you start your day with a delicious breakfast. The breakfast spread is impressive: fresh fruits are available both pre-cut and whole. I chose the whole kiwi, apples, pears, and oranges, and staff kindly sliced them for me right after I placed them on my tray—such a thoughtful touch. The hotel offers valet parking at €42 per night, which is reasonable considering the central location and high level of service. Every detail feels intentional, from the elegant décor to the attentive staff. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a memorable experience. I’d definitely return and recommend it to any traveler visiting Lyon.
Staying at this boutique hotel in the heart of Lyon was an absolute delight from check-in to check-out. The only minor tweaks I’d suggest: 1) the bar lacked stools, making it less comfortable to sit and enjoy drinks; 2) the Nespresso machines didn’t come with single-serve creamers or powder—so we had to request cold milk separately at a €5 charge, which felt a bit steep; 3) like many European hotels, there were no face cloths (or serviettes carrés) provided in the room—curious, what do Europeans actually use to wipe their faces? The lobby exudes elegance and warmth, while the Grand Salon feels straight out of a film set. Rooms, though on the smaller side, are smartly designed, incredibly comfortable, and feature excellent air conditioning and powerful rain showers. After a long day exploring Lyon, the basement spa area—complete with pool, sauna, steam room, and tea lounge—was pure bliss. Cocktails were crafted with care and served in vintage glassware, though martinis and old-fashioneds could use a bit more spirit. Breakfast was outstanding—full of variety and delicious options, including the ability to order avocado toast, truffled omelette, or œufs à la coque à la carte. Definitely book the B&B rate to avoid the surprise €39 per person fee if you’re not already included. Angelo’s, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, looked tempting but leaned toward the pricier side—we opted for dining out each night in Lyon’s culinary capital district instead. Staff were genuinely warm and attentive throughout. This hotel easily ranks among my top three reasonably priced boutique stays in Europe.
Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful—always going the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable. The room offered a stunning view of the city, and breakfast was absolutely perfect, served with a breathtaking panoramic outlook that made every morning feel special. The only suggestion for improvement would be a small refresh of the room’s decor—some modern touches could elevate the already great ambiance even further. Overall, the location is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the value for money is excellent. I’d definitely return and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon.
Staying at Pullman Lyon was an absolute highlight of my trip to Lyon. The location couldn’t be better—right across from the train station, just turn left after exiting and there it is. Super convenient for getting around the city. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly; one even offered me a map of Lyon and marked out recommended spots based on what I wanted to see—big shoutout to Elise, who truly went above and beyond with her helpfulness. The room was clean, well-maintained, and spotless—exactly what you want after a long journey. Breakfast was served in the ground-floor restaurant, which has a bright, open atmosphere and great natural lighting. I had my first-ever experience with a croissant sandwiched with strawberry jam and hoisin sauce—unexpected but surprisingly delicious! There was a little mix-up with my tea order: I asked for a cup of black tea, but the server handed me a tea bag instead. By the time I realized it, I’d already opened it—so I ended up drinking it anyway, which made for a funny moment. It didn’t ruin the experience at all—it actually added a touch of charm. Overall, this hotel delivered excellent service, comfort, and a memorable stay. Highly recommend!
Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight. Located in the heart of Lyon, it's perfectly positioned for exploring the city—walking distance to great restaurants, charming boutiques, and local hotspots. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with each room uniquely designed and beautifully decorated, making every stay feel special. I loved how no two rooms were alike—each one had its own character and charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and impressed by the attention to detail. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s an experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone visiting Lyon.
Staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lyon was an absolute highlight of my trip. Located right in the iconic 'Pencil Tower,' the hotel is just a short 5-minute walk west from Part-Dieu Station, and only one stop on the tram—making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The nearby shopping complex offers everything you need, from meals to everyday essentials, all within easy reach. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the view. From the room, you get panoramic vistas of Lyon’s skyline and surrounding areas—especially breathtaking at sunset. It’s rare to find such a stunning view combined with great location and comfort. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lyon who wants a perfect blend of convenience, charm, and unforgettable scenery.
Stayed for three nights and overall, this hotel delivered a great experience. The location is super convenient—just a short metro ride from the city center. I appreciated the little touches like free apples by the elevator and complimentary water available to refill—small details that make a big difference. Breakfast was excellent: varied, fresh, and well-prepared, especially the continental options. My only minor complaint was the mattress—it was a bit too soft, which caused some back discomfort after a few nights. That said, the staff were friendly and attentive, the room was clean and modern, and the value for money was solid. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Lyon.
