Tongli Lake View Hotel

This has been one of the most satisfying hotel stays I've had in years. From the moment I booked, a staff member reached out proactively to understand my needs—something that instantly set the tone for an exceptional experience. Upon arrival, Xiao Qiu was incredibly helpful, patiently guiding me through room selection and even arranging two connecting rooms that perfectly suited our family. Though the hotel opened in 2004 and shows a bit of age on the outside, the interior is well-maintained and recently renovated last year—no lingering construction smell at all. The rooms are modern, clean, and fully equipped, with standout features like the electric towel warmer that everyone loved. Dining options were excellent too—the breakfast spread was diverse and delicious, and the pool water was crystal clear. The view from Daguanyuan at night was breathtaking, almost worth the trip on its own. One unexpected highlight? Free photography service included in the stay. The three professionally edited photos turned out beautifully, and my family still talk about them. What truly sets this place apart is the staff. Every single person we met—from front desk to housekeeping—was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Their level of hospitality far exceeded what I’ve experienced at many international luxury chains. Special thanks to Xiao Qiu (Sales), Xiao Wei (Chinese Restaurant), Xiao Yao (Concierge), Wang Zhi (Housekeeping), and all the other friendly faces who made our stay so memorable. The pool is perfect for both adults and kids, with great facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. And the private walkway? A photographer’s paradise—endless opportunities for stunning shots. Location-wise, it’s ideal: walking distance to restaurants, shopping areas, and even the lakefront. Easy access to public transit too. Everything about this hotel exceeded expectations. The entire property feels brand new, with top-notch facilities. The fitness center is immaculate, with well-maintained equipment, and the indoor pool offers consistent temperature and humidity—ideal for a relaxing swim without the crowds. The front desk staff, Sawyer, was exceptionally friendly and professional, offering thoughtful travel tips that made our trip much smoother. From the location to the service, every detail was outstanding. This stay exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be back.

Four Points by Sheraton Suzhou, Wuzhong

The hotel overall is excellent—comfortable rooms, great amenities, and friendly staff. While it’s a bit of a walk from the nearest subway station, it’s manageable and not a major issue. Breakfast was decent with a variety of options, but the coffee and tea were disappointing. The coffee was extremely weak—by far the weakest I’ve had in any hotel stay. The black tea tasted more like colored water than actual tea, and there were no fresh tea bags available for brewing. It really brought down the experience, especially since other aspects of the stay were so positive. That said, the room comfort, cleanliness, and service all exceeded expectations. Definitely worth staying again if they can upgrade the beverage offerings.

I originally booked without breakfast, but this unexpected upgrade made the experience even better. The overall value is outstanding. Suzhou is already a lovely city, but this hotel truly makes it stand out. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

Overall, this place offers incredible value and comfort. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in Suzhou.
