Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay

Staying in the honeymoon suite on the 7th floor was such a delightful surprise—corner room with multiple windows and a spacious balcony that flooded the space with natural light. The room was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, making it feel like a private retreat. The housekeeping staff were genuinely warm and friendly, greeting us with a smile the moment we walked in. Even though the resort is large and bustling, the team stayed organized and attentive, always going the extra mile. They offered to carry our luggage up to the room and even helped with packing and bringing bags down at check-out—way more thoughtful than what I’ve experienced at some other luxury hotels. A small tip is definitely deserved for such service. The barbecue and hot pot buffets were outstanding—plenty of fresh ingredients, and the lamb skewers were especially delicious. I ended up eating so much I could barely move! The breakfast was next level too—huge dining area, endless variety, and one of the most impressive hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had on this trip. The landscaping is beautiful, and the resort feels expansive and peaceful. Right outside the front door is the Menguang Longlou walkway, where you can stroll along the beachfront. Staying here for a concert in Sanya was such a great choice! I especially appreciated the self-service laundry—super convenient for longer stays. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The location is ideal if you're attending events nearby—the venue is just a short ride away, and it's also close to the beach. It’s a bit farther from the duty-free shopping area, but that didn’t bother me at all. Overall, an excellent stay with top-notch comfort and value. Would definitely come back!

This time we booked a two-bedroom suite and a deluxe room. The two-bedroom unit was ideal for our family of four—very spacious, with three TVs (all free to use), a private bathroom, balcony, and even a laundry area. So practical and comfortable! The deluxe room was just as impressive—spacious bathroom with a lovely balcony that offered great views. Everything felt well thought out, and the service was warm and attentive. We picked up oysters for just 4-6 yuan each, clams at 10-12 yuan per kilo, sweet and crisp local greens for only 4 yuan per pound, and juicy prawns that were both tender and flavorful at 35 yuan per kilo. And let’s talk about the pineapple vendor—the guy who peels them with one hand? Pure artistry. He’s got moves like a real-life “Du Yuesheng” of Hainan street food. Everything was fresh, delicious, and priced so reasonably. This place isn’t just about comfort—it’s about authentic island living, great value, and unforgettable moments. The front desk is located in the commercial street of the complex (Blue Classic building), clean and well-organized. I stayed in a Comfort Garden View Studio Suite on the 6th floor—spacious with 67 square meters of room, perfect for couples or solo travelers. The 1.8-meter king bed was incredibly comfortable, with crisp white linens that felt fresh and clean. The mattress had just the right firmness, and the pillows were plentiful and cozy. The room’s design blends minimalist Chinese style with warm neutral tones—white walls paired with natural wood accents create a calm, homely atmosphere. There’s a small balcony overlooking the garden, and the blackout curtains did a great job blocking out morning light. All amenities were top-notch: air conditioning, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, reliable Wi-Fi, and 24-hour hot water. The bathroom is well-lit with a strong exhaust fan. While it’s not separated into dry and wet zones, the shower has excellent water pressure and delivers a refreshing experience. The sink area is compact but functional, with all essential toiletries provided. What stood out most was the friendly and attentive service—the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
