I stayed at C'est La Vie Youth Hostel during the Urumqi Marathon in August 2025, booking a single room for four nights from the 27th to the 30th. The dorm rooms are set up with 3–4 single bunk beds per room—perfect for solo travelers like me. Male and female guests are separated into different rooms, and shared bathrooms are also gender-divided, which I appreciated for privacy. The bedding was clean and changed daily—very hygienic. There’s also a cozy common area ideal for relaxing or meeting other travelers. The staff noticed I’m an older guest and kindly assigned me a lower bunk, plus helped me connect to Wi-Fi on my phone—small gestures, but really thoughtful. The price is super affordable, and it clearly draws a lot of visitors—by the 30th night, the place was completely booked. On the 31st, I returned late in the afternoon and needed time to freshen up; the team didn’t mind at all, showing great flexibility. Overall, this hostel exceeded my expectations—great value, friendly staff, and a welcoming vibe. If I ever come back to Urumqi, I’ll definitely stay here again.

Wanda Yuehua Hotel Urumqi Convention and Exhibition Center

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip to Urumqi, and I couldn’t be happier with the choice. The location is perfect—right next to the convention center, so all my meetings were just a short walk away. With the cold weather in Xinjiang making outdoor travel uncomfortable, being able to avoid long walks was a huge plus. I arrived late at night, and the hotel even called to check on me—such a thoughtful touch! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making the check-in process smooth and welcoming. They also upgraded my room, which was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was satisfying with good variety, and I appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks available in the room. The fitness center was well-equipped, and the self-service laundry was a convenient bonus. Plus, the surrounding area has plenty of dining options and easy access to public transport. Everything about this stay exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Urumqi—highly recommend for both business and leisure travelers.

Urumqi Garden Hotel (Innovation Plaza)

Staying at Urumqi Garden Hotel (Innovation Plaza) was a decent experience overall. The location is very convenient—just a short subway ride from the city center, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. While the price is on the higher side, I did receive a complimentary upgrade to a business suite, which offered ample space and a clean, modern layout. That said, the room didn’t feel significantly better than standard options—maybe my expectations were too high. Breakfast was average at best: limited choices and nothing particularly memorable in terms of taste or variety. Given the rate, I’d have expected a more impressive morning meal. Still, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel remains quiet and well-maintained. If you're visiting for a quick business trip or need a reliable base, this place works—but keep in mind that the value doesn’t quite match the premium pricing.

A Fashion Hotel (Huatian Town)

I'd seen great reviews about this hotel before, and my stay definitely lived up to the hype. The location is super easy to find—right on the main street with clear signage, making it simple to spot even if you're new to the area. The entire property was immaculately clean, from the lobby to our room. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. What really stood out was the front desk staff—they were incredibly friendly and attentive. When we arrived, they noticed our room was a bit smaller than expected and without hesitation upgraded us to a larger one. That small gesture made a big difference in comfort and overall experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was personal, and the value for money was excellent. I’d absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Ürümqi—highly recommend! It’s a true gem in the city.

Wassim Hotel (Urumqi Hongguang Mountain International Convention and Exhibition Center)

I originally booked it with a 'just stay here' mindset since the price was so affordable, but the actual experience blew my expectations completely away. The room itself felt way above its price point: spotless floors, incredibly comfortable bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep, powerful air conditioning, reliable hot water, fast Wi-Fi, and high-quality toiletries—not the cheap stuff you often get at budget places. Even the bedside charging outlets were thoughtfully placed, making it super convenient for travelers. What really stunned me? Breakfast was included! It wasn’t fancy, but it had all the basics—congee, noodles, rice, buns, eggs, milk, and coffee—fresh ingredients, simple home-style flavors, and more than enough to start the day right. Totally worth it. Location-wise, it’s perfect: just a short walk from the bus stop, surrounded by local eateries and convenience stores, so finding food or essentials is effortless. For the lowest possible cost, I got an experience that rivals mid-to-high-end hotels in comfort and service. The value is unmatched. If I’m ever back in Urumqi, this will be my go-to choice. A genuine recommendation for anyone traveling on a budget who still wants a great stay!
