The natural setting at He Nian · Ban Shan Forest Hotel is absolutely breathtaking—surrounded by lush greenery and bathed in the warm sunshine of Yunnan. Even though it was a bit chilly during our stay, the hotel had already turned on the heating early in the morning—such a thoughtful touch! Our concierge kindly reached out the day before to confirm whether we preferred breakfast delivered to our room or enjoyed it in the dining area, and everything arrived right on time. The service was exceptional throughout. Whether you're here for business travel or family fun, this place fits both perfectly. I asked the staff about local recommendations, and they shared insider tips on where to eat, what to explore, and how to make the most of your trip—all personalized and genuinely helpful. I’ve heard that each season brings a different kind of beauty to the property, making it a destination worth revisiting no matter the time of year. If I ever come back to Kunming, this will be my first choice without hesitation.

CitiGO Hotel

Staying at CitiGO Hotel near Lake Cuihu was an absolute delight—far beyond my expectations! The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the serene Lake Cuihu, with easy walking access to Yunnan University and the historic Military Academy. It’s perfectly quiet yet still central—ideal for both sightseeing and relaxation. The front desk staff were efficient and genuinely helpful, even setting up a service group to recommend nearby attractions. I especially appreciated the complimentary warm herbal teas available in the lobby—such a thoughtful touch. The room itself was stylish yet practical, cozy and spotlessly clean. The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The smart room system made everything seamless—adjusting lights and curtains with one tap, while the shower delivered strong, consistent water flow. Bathroom amenities were high-quality and thoughtfully chosen. Breakfast offered a great mix of Western and local flavors, and the late-night snack option was a pleasant surprise. Their signature local rice noodles were authentic and delicious, and the coffee? Top-notch. I was also impressed by the excellent soundproofing—even though the room is on the ground floor, closing the door completely blocked out any lobby noise. Plus, having access to a laundry facility and a fully equipped fitness center made it perfect for both business travelers and leisure guests. Overall, the value for money is outstanding. If I ever come back to Kunming, this will be my first choice without hesitation.
